The Guernsey Goat Society

(Based in Guernsey, Channel Islands)

Welcome

The Guernsey Goat Society was founded in 1922 by a group of Islanders aiming 'to encourage the keeping of goats and to improve the breed of goats on the Island', as described by Carolyn Drewitt, an honorary life member of the society. Her account is detailed here.

To this day many Guernsey goat owners actively participate in keeping this sentiment alive.  TGGS has held a register for the Island's goats since the inauguration of the society, & later, with a special section for the Golden Guernsey Goat.

TGGS is a place where people with a passion for goats can learn, share & healthily  expand Guernsey's population of beautiful goats.
